Depression can be simply defined as a mental state characterized by a pessimistic sense of inadequacy and a despondent lack of activity. All the people across the world suffer from depression one or the other way during some part(s) of their lives. Depression may not seem to be so harmful on the initial stage as it directly does not hurt or harm any bodily systems or organs but over the times, it may start involving many biopsychological things that may ruin up depressed person's routine and life.
Depression treatment comes in many ways. There are lots of allopathic medications (called as anti-depressants) used to treat various types of depression. However, as with other modern medicines, anti-depressants also have some side, unwanted and undesired effects such as impotency. That is why; more and more health care providers now prefer to have natural depression treatment.
Depression treatment includes some external therapies and also internal therapies. The external therapies include massaging the body with relaxing medicated herbal oils and rubbing with some special medicated paste that helps in calming down the body's aggressive chemical changes. Ancient science like Ayurveda deals depression using its very own and authentic Panchakarma. Panchakarma comprises of lots of therapies performed on the body. For instance, Shirodhara is a procedure that involves medicated solution to be poured onto the forehead from a specific height for a certain period in a particular fashion. The medicated solutions used here comprises of potential natural herbs that have calming and soothing effects on the brain and they are also said to be very useful in restoring the brain chemicals those are found disturbed during depression and anxiety.
There are many internal medications that can be used in depression treatment. Herbs such as Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Mandookparni, Guduchi, Shankhapushpi etc have been used in treating various health ailments, especially related to the human brain. One can go for either a single herb supplement or can go for some product that contains the blend of above mentioned herbs.
